PDA launches election 2024 manifesto

Health and social care are key features of the UK general election in 2024, with pharmacy and pharmacists being specifically mentioned in televised debates and political party manifesto pledges. The Pharmacists' Defence Association (PDA) has launched a manifesto with key asks of the next government to improve access to safe and effective NHS care for patients and support the vital pharmacist workforce.

PDA update on the NPA’s ‘Day of Action’ campaign

Your rights under the Equality Act 2010

As part of the PDA Ability Network’s ‘Standing up for Sitting Down’ campaign, the network is asking members to ensure that they understand their rights under the Equality Act 2010 as a pharmacist, trainee pharmacist, or a pharmacy student with disabilities and assert these rights.

PDA continues to assist members following changes to the Boots Pension Scheme

The PDA Union is continuing to assist members who are unhappy with changes to the Boots Pension Scheme. These changes were introduced as a consequence of the decision to transfer responsibility for paying benefits to Legal and General under a buy-in arrangement announced last year.

On 20 May, PDA members in Scotland met at the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) headquarters in Glasgow. During the meeting delegates discussed important issues they face in their workplace and learned about strategies they can employ to address them.
