• Extreme May heat highlights growing risks in pharmacy workplaces

  As the UK experiences one of its hottest Mays on record, the PDA is warning that extreme temperatures are becoming an increasing workplace risk. With heatwave conditions arriving earlier and reaching unprecedented levels, employers must take proactive steps to protect pharmacists and pharmacy teams. 

• PDA announces regional committee election results

  PDA members around the UK were invited to stand for election and following a process managed by an independent scrutineer the results have now been verified.  

• Stand for election to your Regional Committee: Nominations open on Monday 12 January 2026

  The PDA Union is calling for nominations for members to form its four Regional Committees. Where more candidates are nominated than seats available, all full members in each region will be asked to vote to decide who is elected. 

• Update on Boots pay negotiations 2025

  The PDA Union negotiating team met multiple times with Boots management during 2025 to discuss and eventually agree a pay settlement for store-based and relief pharmacists at the company.  

• Agreement reached between Boots and the PDA Union in settlement of the 2025 pay talks for Pharmacists

  Following productive discussions between Boots and the PDA Union negotiating teams, both parties are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached in relation to this year’s pay claim, effective from 1 November 2025.

• PDA and BPA welcome result of merger ballot

  The result of a ballot asking members of the Boots Pharmacists’ Association about a merger proposal showed pharmacists overwhelmingly wanted the BPA to become part of the PDA Union. 

• Boots Pharmacists’ Association members to vote on joining PDA Union

  The Boots Pharmacists Association (BPA) and PDA Union have agreed terms for the BPA to merge into the PDA Union.
