• GPhC extend Provisional Registrant arrangements until 2022 and delay this year’s Summer exam dates

  The GPhC has announced that they are extending the provisional registrant arrangements until January 2022, and due to an associated delay to the Summer registration exam date, any of the current (20-21) cohort of pre-registration trainees wishing to practice from 1 August will now have to also become provisional registrants until the results are released and they are eligible to join the pharmacist register.

  The PDA is advising PDA locum members in Scotland about their contractual rights following complaints that a health board is cancelling booked vaccination shifts without notice.

  PDA locum members in Scotland are furious after receiving NHS communications saying that the NHS is cancelling their scheduled shifts in the Covid vaccination programme and amending payment arrangements without any prior discussion 

• Locum and employed pharmacists should check arrangements for them to receive up to £500 government payment in Scotland and Northern Ireland

  Employers, in Northern Ireland and in Scotland, have been asked by their respective governments to provide information about how many eligible pharmacists, including locums, will receive up to £500 as a payment from government for their contribution in 2020 towards tackling the Covid pandemic.

  The PDA is responding to media reports that McKesson intend to sell their LloydsPharmacy business and is reassuring members that the union will be doing all it can to protect their employment should this be accurate and their employment be affected.

  Today marks the start of HeartUnions week 2021. This year the PDA is celebrating by demonstrating why unions are vital for everyone at work and encouraging all pharmacists, students and pre-regs that are not yet members to join the PDA today.
