  Over 40 PDA members, NHS hospital pharmacists from across the UK, met with union officers on Tuesday 31 January to discuss how to apply for re-banding.

  The Scottish government has made an early offer to increase the pay rates of those working in the NHS in Scotland employed on Agenda for Change terms and conditions to take effect on 1 April 2023.

  The STUC, TUC and MPs have warned hundreds of NHS buildings across Scotland still contain asbestos, including hospitals.

  The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDA Union has reached a historic decision for the union to call its first ever ballot for strike action. 

• NHS pay update following members survey – England, Wales, and Northern Ireland

  On 19 December, the PDA invited members working in the NHS in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland to participate in a survey, the results of which would inform a decision on whether to move to any formal industrial action ballot(s). Separate communications have been sent to members in Scotland, where there is a different NHS pay offer.

• Members where NHS pay increase results in reduced take-home pay

  The PDA are highlighting that some members employed by the NHS face a situation where the pay increase will result in them receiving less take home pay each month, and due to the increase being backdated they now need to repay money to their employer.  

• PDA refer NHS England to Information Commissioner over failure to share data on community pharmacy closures

  NHS England and Improvement has not been forthcoming with information requested under Freedom of Information (FOI) laws about Community Pharmacy closures, resulting in the PDA asking the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to investigate.
