The details of the offer can be found here.
For the majority of PDA Union members this offer is a 6.5% increase plus a one off non-consolidated lump sum of between £461 and £939 depending on band, although for members in bands 8b and above the increase ranges from 3.3% to 5.9%.
These increases are in addition to the increase received last year which was accepted by the PDA Union but continues to be the subject of dispute with the Royal College of Nursing.
The PDA Union understands the Scottish government have committed to revising the offer should the Independent Pay Review Body recommend a higher increase than this offer.
Paul Flynn, PDA National Officer for Scotland said, “There are now direct negotiations between the Scottish government and trade unions representing NHS workers in Scotland and this process has delivered higher increases for members in Scotland than their colleagues elsewhere in the UK.
While we note this offer and recognise that, while still below inflation, it is significantly higher than increases recommended through the Pay Review Body process as applied to NHS workers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland we intend to reserve judgement on it until the Pay Review Body has made its recommendation, which we believe could be higher than this offer.
If that is the case then, through our membership of the Scottish TUC, we will be ensuring the Scottish government keeps to its promise and improves this offer.”
