Upcoming PDA member event details work in the Antimicrobial Drug Resistance field

Next month, the PDA will be running an online member-exclusive event detailing some of their recent work involving Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR).

In response to concerns from clinicians working with the Medicines to Ukraine initiative, the PDA along with the British Society of Anti-microbial Chemotherapy (BSAC), jointly assembled a multidisciplinary team of experts, including pharmacists, from across the UK to learn more from their Ukrainian peers about the issue.

During the lunchtime session, PDA Policy Officer, Tasnim Khan will be joined by Bee Yean Ng, Specialist Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) pharmacist, where they will be discussing the PDA’s work around AMR and the latest developments in the field.

The online session will take place on Wednesday 12 July 2023 from 1 pm to 2 pm.

Tasnim Khan

PDA Policy Officer, Assistant General Secretary of the PDA Union, pharmacist

Tasnim Khan is a Policy Officer at the PDA, Assistant General Secretary of the PDA Union, and a pharmacist with a background in hospital pharmacy and an MSc in Global Health and Social Medicine. Tasnim handles casework, looks at policy related to hospital practise, and assists with international projects such as addressing the AMR issues in Ukraine.

 

Bee Yean Ng

Specialist Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) pharmacist 

Bee Yean Ng is a Specialist Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) pharmacist, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for England’s Global Health (CPhOGH) Fellow, and Das Pillay award winner. Bee is involved in Oxford University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT) stewardship activities and the Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship (CwPAMS) program in regional referral hospitals in Uganda and Kenya. Bee understands the importance of antimicrobial stewardship alongside infection prevention and control to tackle antimicrobial resistance within OUHFT and globally.
